Monday Book Review
“The Jane Austen Book Club” by Karen Joy Fowler
Another older book that won the New York Times bestseller prize. Another book made into a movie, this one by Sony Pictures. The author has written five other books, none that I had heard of before picking up this one.
This review will be quick. If you are a fan of Jane Austen, you’ll probably enjoy it. If you are not a fan, don’t bother. Two stars at the most in my opinion.
Crooked Creek by Sue Mattingly 
Never heard of this — I’ll have to check it out. I presume it’s peopled with Jane Austen characters?

Not really, it’s about the people in the book club who are fans and includes a few scenes from Austen’s writings.

Ah! Kind of like the Agatha Christie Book Club series, very modern mysteries by C A Larmer. Incorporates only a bit from one of her crime novels.
