About

As a woman who has been navigating life for over seventy years, I’d like to share some of my experiences with you. If you read this blog I promise to be honest with you, even when it is uncomfortable. I believe some of the stories I share will touch your heart with deep emotions. I hope you will learn some insights that may be new to your way of thinking.

My roles over the years include the list below, sorted in chronological order. As life changed and new responsibilities were added, many of those roles already undertaken continued and were built upon much like this photo of rocks, called a cairn.

All the layers of life can come tumbling down under certain circumstances, but generally they are added one upon another. My role of wife lasted 54.5 years to the day. I am very happy my role as mother continues to bring me joy each and every day. While my nursing career ceased to consist of clinical patient care, that training and experience was an invaluable asset in the business of health care. And, make no mistake, it is a business.
